The WR200 is an industrial-grade 4G LTE router designed for unmanned and harsh-environment deployments where reliable cellular connectivity must coexist with legacy industrial serial protocols. With built-in RS232/RS485 interfaces, ESIM + external SIM dual support, DC 9–48V wide voltage input, 48V PoE, and hardware watchdog, it delivers a complete cellular gateway solution for PLC integration, IoT sensor networks, self-service terminals, and remote site monitoring.

Ideal For

  • Industrial IoT — connecting PLCs, SCADA systems, and Modbus sensors over 4G LTE
  • Unmanned remote sites — oil wells, pump rooms, power substations, and water treatment plants
  • Self-service terminals — vending machines, kiosks, advertising displays, and ticketing systems
  • Fleet management and vehicle tracking requiring RS232/RS485 serial connectivity
  • Distributed retail and banking networks needing centralized cloud management
  • ISPs and system integrators delivering industrial cellular gateway solutions

Industrial Design and Power Flexibility

The WR200 is built for environments where consumer and office-grade routers fail. The metal enclosure dissipates heat in enclosed cabinet installations, and the DC 9–48V wide voltage input handles the unstable power rails common in industrial sites — from 12V vehicle power to 48V telecom DC systems — without requiring external voltage regulators or converters.

The 48V PoE input on the WAN port adds further flexibility: the WR200 can be powered directly from an existing PoE switch in the distribution cabinet, eliminating the need for a separate power supply or terminal block wiring in rack and panel installations.

For mounting, two options are provided: standard 35mm DIN rail clip for installation in IEC 60715 electrical cabinets, and four-screw panel mount for wall-mounted enclosures or custom industrial housings. The compact 146×96×36mm footprint fits the space constraints of typical electrical control panels.

RS232/RS485 Serial Integration

The RS232 and RS485 interfaces on the WR200’s terminal block connect directly to industrial serial devices — PLCs, Modbus RTU sensors, industrial meters, and SCADA equipment — that lack native Ethernet or cellular interfaces.

The router acts as a transparent serial-to-cellular gateway: serial data from connected devices is encapsulated and transmitted over the 4G LTE uplink to cloud servers or enterprise SCADA platforms. This removes the need for separate serial converters or industrial M2M modules at each device, reducing component count and wiring complexity in the control cabinet.

ESIM and Remote SIM Management

The built-in ESIM chip combined with the external SIM slot provides operational flexibility for large-scale deployments. A software switch selects between ESIM and physical SIM without physical card access — critical for devices installed inside sealed enclosures, elevated structures, or restricted-access industrial facilities.

For fleet deployments across multiple mobile operators or regions, ESIM profile switching enables carrier failover and regional SIM provisioning without dispatching field technicians to each site — the primary operational cost advantage of ESIM in industrial IoT at scale.

VPN and Secure Remote Access

The WR200 supports PPTP and L2TP VPN client modes, establishing encrypted tunnels over public 4G networks to connect remote industrial sites to corporate LAN infrastructure. Field engineers can access PLC programming interfaces, check sensor readings, or update SCADA configurations from headquarters without exposing industrial network ports to the public internet.

Combined with the cloud management platform, VPN remote access eliminates unplanned site visits for routine maintenance — reducing the operational cost that makes distributed industrial infrastructure expensive to support.

Cloud Fleet Management

Integration with the Alibaba IoT platform enables batch management of WR200 fleets at scale. Configuration profiles can be pushed to large numbers of devices simultaneously, online/offline status is monitored in real time, and OTA firmware upgrades are scheduled during maintenance windows — all without on-site presence.

The platform supports secondary development via open APIs, allowing system integrators to embed WR200 management into their own monitoring dashboards or SCADA platforms and deliver customers a unified interface across all industrial IoT devices.

OEM/ODM Ready

MossLink offers OEM and ODM customization for the WR200, including custom firmware builds with specific serial protocol support, cellular carrier preloading, enclosure branding, web management branding, and white-label packaging. Full cloud-platform white-labeling is not included by default and must be separately scoped on an eligible platform with setup and committed-volume requirements. The WR200 is designed for industrial IoT integrators, field automation companies, and operators deploying distributed cellular gateways.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the ESIM and external SIM slot on the WR200?
The WR200 includes a built-in ESIM chip and a physical external SIM card slot. A software switch selects between them without opening the device or physically handling any card. This is critical for unmanned deployments — if the primary carrier loses coverage, you can switch SIM profiles remotely from the cloud management platform without sending a technician to the site.
How does the RS232/RS485 serial port integrate with industrial equipment?
The RS232 and RS485 interfaces on the WR200's terminal block connect directly to PLCs, industrial sensors, Modbus RTU meters, SCADA equipment, and other serial devices. The WR200 acts as a transparent serial-to-cellular gateway — serial data from connected equipment is encapsulated and transmitted over the 4G LTE uplink to cloud servers or enterprise platforms, eliminating the need for separate serial converters or M2M modules.
What power supply options does the WR200 support?
The WR200 accepts DC 9–48V wide voltage input via terminal block, and also supports 48V PoE input on the WAN port. This covers 12V vehicle power, 24V industrial DC rails, 48V telecom power systems, and PoE switches — virtually all industrial power environments without external voltage converters.
Can the WR200 be managed and rebooted remotely without on-site visits?
Yes. The WR200 integrates with Alibaba IoT cloud platform for centralized remote management — push configuration, monitor status, trigger OTA firmware upgrades, and reboot devices across entire fleets from a single dashboard. The hardware watchdog auto-reboots the device if the firmware hangs, providing an additional recovery layer without physical intervention.
Is OEM/ODM customization available for this product?
Yes. MossLink offers custom firmware builds, serial protocol support, cellular carrier preloading, enclosure branding, web management branding, and white-label packaging. A fully white-labeled cloud platform is a separately scoped OEM program for selected models, with setup and committed-volume requirements; it is not included by default.
What is the MOQ for the WR200?
Standard WR200 orders start at 100 units. Logo and packaging customization (OEM) also starts at 100 units, custom firmware at 500 units, and custom hardware (ODM) at 1,000 units. Contact sales with your target quantity for a formal quotation.
Can I get a sample of the WR200 before bulk ordering?
Yes. We supply 1–5 evaluation units at product cost plus shipping, and the sample fee is credited toward your first bulk order. Contact us via email or WhatsApp with the model number to arrange a sample.
What is the lead time for the WR200?
In-stock units ship within 3–5 business days. Bulk production orders typically require 3–4 weeks, and OEM/ODM orders with customization take 4–8 weeks depending on complexity. Rush production is available at additional cost.
Is the WR200 certified for my market?
The WR200 carries CE, FCC, and RoHS certification as standard. Additional certifications for specific markets (IC, TELEC, NCC, etc.) can be arranged through our ODM service.
How is product quality controlled before shipment?
Every unit undergoes 100% inspection and 24-hour burn-in testing before leaving the factory, and a signed QC report ships with every order — full traceability from component to delivery.
What payment terms do you accept?
Standard terms are a 30% deposit with order confirmation and the 70% balance before shipment, paid in USD via T/T. Letter of credit and flexible terms are available for established partners.
